Frederikshavn Municipality contributes to the reduction of Denmark’s emissions of greenhouse gases.
Our vision is, for the entire municipality to become 100 percent self-sufficient with sustained energy before the end of 2030. Our goal demands cooperation and targeted work.
Frederikshavn Municipality has a tradition for prioritizing energy and environment. In 2007, we signed an agreement with the Danish Society for Nature
Conservation for 3% reductions of the municipality’s CO2 per year. As the first municipality in North Jutland, Frederikshavn joined the EU covenant of Mayors in April 2011.
The goal is to create a climate conscious image for citizens, residents and businesses.
