A majority in the City Council of Frederikshavn Municipality has decided that the municipality will not use its right of opposition to a test site for offshore wind turbines northeast of Frederikshavn Harbor. Frederikshavn Municipality sees the project as an opportunity to develop green energy, create local jobs and take part in the national green transition. At the same time, a Megaphone study has documented great popular support for the wind turbine project, which can be placed four and a half kilometers offshore. 66 percent are either positive or very positive towards the test site. The Energy, Supply and Climate Ministry decides whether the project with the five turbines will be realized. Read more in the press release from European Energy here.
