Energy City Frederikshavn receives 1.6 million DKK for innovative financial models for energy renovation of private houses.
FREDERISKHAVN, DENMARK: 1.6 million DKK for innovative financial models for energy renovation of private houses. That is good news to Energy City Frederikshavn, which has been assigned money from EU’s so-called Horizon 2020 pool.
Bahram Dehghan, Chief Consultant, Energy City Frederikshavn, is part of a project group that consists of 10 European countries, who applied for the pool in 2016.
Through the eye of the needle
The budget totals to 15 million DKK and Energy City Frederikshavn’s part is 1.6 million DKK.
The project is called INNOVATE and will be running from 2017 to 2020.
“In Energy City Frederikshavn we are proud to be in the company of big European countries. It indicates that we are able to find innovative solutions in our municipality, which are sought-after and can be applied in other places as well. We are very satisfied that the project has made it through the eye of the needle in EU,” says Bahram Dehghan.
Ten European countries
Besides Denmark, the partners in the project are from France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Lithuania, the Check Republic, Sweden, Italy, Spain and England.
Energy Cities Network is project manager. Frederikshavn municipality has been a member of the European organisation ‘Energy Cities Network’ since 2011.
Energy City Frederikshavn is finalising another similar EU project called ‘Infinite Solutions’ by the end of February 2017.
